Trained by many of Spain's foremost dance masters, Rosa Mercedes performed as a soloist and principal dancer with leading companies including Maria Benitez Teatro Flamenco, Compañía Flamenca de Carmen Cortés, Ballet Español de Madrid, Ballet Español de Lucía Real y El Camborio, Zorongo Flamenco Dance Theatre, Ballet Español Rosita Segovia, and Duende Ballet Español, where she later served as Artistic Director. Her performances have taken her throughout the United States, Europe, Canada, Mexico, and South America, earning critical acclaim from major publications and establishing her reputation as a leading interpreters of Spanish dance.

Her dancing and choreography have been seen at many of the world's foremost opera companies, including the Metropolitan Opera, Washington National Opera, Seattle Opera, Dallas Opera, Atlanta Opera, Teatro dell'Opera di Roma, Cincinnati Opera, Michigan Opera Theatre, Opera Lyra Ottawa, Florida Grand Opera, Tulsa Opera, Palm Beach Opera, Toledo Opera and Opera Carolina, among many others.

She has collaborated with internationally renowned directors on productions ranging from Carmen and Samson et Dalila to Aïda, Salome, La Traviata, Faust, and Il Barbiere di Siviglia. Her choreography has been widely praised for its authenticity, dramatic insight, and seamless integration into the operatic storytelling process.
